Murang’a County Administration is partnering with the Food 4 Education Organisation to pilot a feeding programme in local public primary schools.
The programme, which is already implemented in 55 schools serving as kitchen centres for the Uji programme, aims to provide lunch to primary school-going children.
Parents pay Sh. 20 per day, with the organisation topping up the remaining amount.
The pilot programme will run for two years, with the possibility of expanding to all public primary schools if successful.
The Food 4 Education Organisation aims to provide a balanced diet for children during lunchtime.
