An investigation is currently in progress following a fire incident last night in the Mradi area of Embakasi, resulting in at least 271 individuals sustaining injuries. Concerns regarding safety standards at proliferating gas cylinder refilling companies have been raised in light of this event.
The fire, originating at Kentainer Company Limited, prompted the mobilization of various response units throughout the city to evacuate and assist those affected. Efforts to contain the rapidly spreading fire intensified throughout the night.

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura issued a warning via the X platform last evening, advising the public to steer clear of the fire site due to ongoing rescue operations aimed at extinguishing the flames. The fire erupted around 11 PM while the company was engaged in gas cylinder refilling.
Many of the victims received treatment for minor burns and inhalation injuries before being discharged. However, individuals with severe injuries were transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital. By Friday morning, reports indicated that the fire had resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
