Mourners en route to the burial of MP Jessica Mbalu’s son were involved in a Saturday morning accident. The incident occurred on the Emali-Sultan Road, where a black Lexus reportedly rolled several times while heading to Makueni.
Witnesses rushed to the scene as the car came to a stop, aiming to assist the occupants of the luxury vehicle. The number of passengers and their conditions were not immediately determined.
MP Jessica Mbalu’s son, Benedict Musyoka Mbalu, is scheduled to be laid to rest today following a memorial service at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Karen on Thursday, January 18.
National leaders, including National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, Attorney General Justin Muturi, and Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, attended the service.
Speaker Wetang’ula expressed profound sympathies for the loss, acknowledging the difficulty of the situation. He praised MP Mbalu as an industrious leader and offered condolences on behalf of the Parliament fraternity.
Benedict Musyoka Mbalu tragically passed away on Sunday, January 14, in an accident caused by heavy rains.
