Kenya Airways (KQ) has secured the position of the second most efficient airline in Africa, according to a global review of airlines and airports based on on-time performance.
As per the recent On-Time Performance Review conducted by aviation analytics firm Cirium, KQ achieved an on-time arrival rate of 71.9 percent in the year 2023. The airline completed a total of 41,905 flights during the last year, earning it the second-best spot in Africa.
The term ‘on-time flight’ refers to a flight that arrives within fifteen (15) minutes of the scheduled gate arrival time, while for an airport, it signifies departing within 15 minutes of its scheduled departure, clarified KQ.
Allan Kilavuka, the Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Airways, attributed the high ranking to the airline’s consistent dedication to on-time performance throughout each month of the year, emphasizing its crucial role in enhancing the overall guest experience strategy.
In the broader context, Kenya Airways secured the 10th position in the overall rankings for the Middle East and Africa region.
