In a gazette notice issued on August 13, 2025, Ponangipalli Venkata Ramana Rao and Swaroop Rao Ponangipalli of Tact Consulting LLP were named as joint administrators. Their appointment, made under the Insolvency Act, 2015, took effect on February 4, 2025, following the enforcement of a qualifying floating charge.
As a result, the firm’s directors have lost the authority to transact or deal in company assets unless explicitly approved by the administrators.
Creditors have been invited to submit their claims, with supporting documents, by August 30, 2025, for review.
The decision marks a significant blow to the once-thriving coach builder, renowned for producing bus and truck bodies across East Africa, and highlights the mounting financial challenges facing Kenya’s automotive and transport manufacturing industry.
