NTSA Unveils New Rules for School Buses Picking Pupils

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has unveiled a series of new initiatives aimed at improving the safety of students during school pick-up and drop-off times.

The measures, which are part of the Draft Traffic (School Transport) Rules 2025, respond to growing concerns over the safety of children commuting to and from school.

One of the key proposals includes the mandatory presence of vehicle attendants on school transport vehicles. These attendants will be responsible for ensuring that children are safely boarded and remain secure while exiting the vehicles.

Additionally, NTSA emphasized the importance of having crossing guards to further safeguard students during these critical travel times.
