Speaking during the viewing, Mzee Lelei described his wife as a central pillar in his life and thanked medical staff for the care they provided throughout her illness. He noted that she had endured a long period of suffering and expressed gratitude to all those who had stood with the family through prayers and visits.

Senator Mandago also expressed appreciation for the support shown to the family, describing his late mother as a strong influence who guided and mentored both her family and the wider community. He thanked God for the years they shared with her.

Mama Esther died on January 29 at the same hospital and will be laid to rest at the family’s Sigen farm near Kuinet, along the Eldoret–Ziwa road.

Before the body was taken home, both Christian and Muslim leaders gathered at the morgue to offer prayers for the family. Since her passing, numerous political and community leaders from across the political divide have visited Mandago’s home to convey their condolences.
