Investigations Launched After Man Collapses and Dies Outside Eastleigh Gym

Detectives are probing the death of a 39-year-old man who collapsed shortly after leaving a gym in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

Police said Ali Abdile Mohamed had just finished his workout on Saturday morning when he suddenly collapsed outside a nearby mall as he prepared to board a vehicle home. He was rushed to a hospital in South C but was declared dead on arrival. His body was taken to the mortuary for a postmortem and further examination.

In Miwani, Kisumu County, police are also investigating the death of a man whose body was found on a farm with bruises on both knees. The body has been moved to the mortuary for identification and autopsy.

In Nairobi’s Jamhuri area, a man believed to belong to the street community was found dead near the railway line. Police said the body was badly decomposed, suggesting he had been dead for a long time. The cause of death remains unclear.

Meanwhile, in Nakuru’s Mwariki area, 38-year-old Henry Njoroge was found dead in what police suspect to be a murder. He was reportedly called out of his house by unknown individuals, and his body was discovered a short distance away. He was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead on arrival. Police believe the killers may have been known to him.

Elsewhere in Nairobi’s Bus Station area, a suspected robber was lynched by a mob after allegedly stabbing a woman and attempting to steal her phone. The woman raised an alarm, prompting members of the public to chase and stone the suspect to death. His body was taken to the mortuary as investigations continue.

In Chebororwa village, Elgeyo Marakwet County, 42-year-old Brenton Sikonye was found dead on his doorstep, lying in a pool of blood with severe head injuries. Police said he had been struck on the back of the head with a wooden stick, which was recovered at the scene. A suspect has been arrested, though the motive remains unknown.

In Laikipia County, officers arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a woman identified as Jude Kagweria. She was assaulted on November 13 and later died from her injuries. A sniffer dog helped track down the suspect, and a mobile phone believed to belong to the victim was recovered. Her body has been taken to the mortuary awaiting postmortem.
