Social media remains the dominant digital channel for Kenyan media houses, accounting for 36 per cent of content distribution. This includes platforms such as Facebook, X, TikTok and Instagram.
Streaming services make up 18.5 per cent, with platforms like YouTube, Netflix, Showmax and Spotify playing a key role.

News websites account for 15.2 per cent of distribution, while messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Telegram contribute 13.5 per cent.
Podcasts represent 7.6 per cent, mobile applications 6.3 per cent, and websites 0.7 per cent.
Other channels, each at 0.3 per cent, include PANG, manual circulation, LinkedIn, company websites and client microsites, Decoder, Apple Music, and AI-driven content platforms.
The survey was conducted between October 17 and November 23, 2025.
