Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced that he recently underwent a medical procedure and is now recovering well.
In a Facebook statement, Owino expressed gratitude for the flood of prayers, messages of support, and goodwill he has received, describing them as a source of strength for him and his family.

“Your concern, prayers, and messages of goodwill have been a powerful support to me and my family. I am deeply thankful for every expression of solidarity,” he said.
The MP shared that, following an illness, he had to undergo a medical procedure.
“By God’s grace, I am now on the path to recovery and remain hopeful and determined to resume my public duties in the New Year,” Owino added.
He extended his thoughts to Kenyans spending the festive season in hospitals, praying for their healing, renewed strength, and comfort. Owino emphasized the importance of unity, compassion, and shared humanity.
Citing Jeremiah 30:17—“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,’ says the Lord”—he encouraged fellow citizens to remain hopeful during health challenges.

In other news, an Infortrak poll released on December 28, 2025, ranked Babu Owino as the most preferred Luo leader. The survey showed 33 per cent of respondents view him as the top successor to the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Siaya Senator and ODM leader Oburu Odinga came second with 10 per cent, followed by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga at seven per cent, Siaya Governor James Orengo at four per cent, and Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi and Interior PS Raymond Omolo both at two per cent.
The end-of-year poll was conducted on December 19 and 20, 2025.
