A tragic incident occurred as a Form 3 student from Shimbo Secondary School in Wundanyi drowned while swimming in the Kishenyi dam in Taita Taveta on Saturday.
According to the police, Julius Mwanyalo, aged 17, was swimming with his classmates when the accident happened after their afternoon classes.
Despite efforts, his body has not been recovered from the dam.
Local divers and Wundanyi station police officers are presently surveying the area before initiating the search operation.
