Kenya Power has announced planned power outages on Friday, February 20, 2026, affecting parts of five counties as part of scheduled maintenance to enhance network stability and reliability.
The utility said the interruptions will take place between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm in selected areas.
Nairobi and North Rift
In Nairobi, Kyuna and nearby neighborhoods will be affected, including Kyuna Road, Kyuna Crescent, Loresho Ridge, Loresho Crescent, Shanzu Road, Kibagare Way, Kibagare Valley, Mwanzi Road, Lower Kabete Road, Hillview, Turkana Drive, part of Lake View Estate, and adjacent customers. Outages are scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
In Uasin Gishu County, power will be interrupted in RVTTI, Hillside, Eldowas Kipkorgot Centre, Carbacid, Naiberi Centre, Plateau Bible College, and surrounding areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Western and South Nyanza
In Kakamega County, affected areas include Harambee, Madungungu, Matungu, Mayoni, Koyonzo, Mwira, Imakale, Munami, Ogalo, Bulimbo, Panyakko, Musambaa, Mwanachi, and Shiabo, with outages scheduled from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Parts of Migori County, including Kehancha, Ntimaru, Gwitwembe, Kegonga, Getongoroma, Taranganya, Kobinto, Masangora, Komosimo, Carose, Senta, Komotobo, Matare, Maeta, Nyarao, Komasicha, and Komomwamu, will experience power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Central Kenya
In Nyeri County, the outage will affect Tumutumu, Tumutumu Hospital, Tegu Coffee Factory, Mathaithi, Rugogati, Giagatika, Mbogo-Ini, Ikonju, Kiangoma, Karie Coffee Factory, Mungaria Polytechnic, Wakamata, Kaiyaba, Mathira Technical Institute, Ngandu Girls Secondary School, and other facilities including the Brade Gate Hotel, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
