Photos obtained by The Lower Eastern Times, corroborating accounts from passengers involved, show that the incident took place at Vincentian near Jomoko, along the road leading to Thika town.
Initial reports suggest there were no fatalities in the accident, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
Following the crash, bystanders quickly began rescue efforts to remove passengers from the overturned bus, which was blocking a part of the service lane.
This incident comes amid increased scrutiny of Super Metro’s operations, following a recent suspension by the National Transport and Safety Authority.
