Gov’t Assures Peace Ahead of November By-Elections

Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has assured that the government is fully prepared to maintain peace and order during the upcoming by-elections scheduled for November 27, 2025.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to hold the mini-polls in several constituencies and wards, including the Kasipul and Ugunja parliamentary seats.

Speaking at Kabunde Social Hall during a NYOTA program sensitization forum, Omollo said the Ministry of Interior has implemented adequate security measures to ensure the polls are conducted smoothly, free from violence or political tension.

“We have put in place the necessary arrangements to guarantee peaceful, credible, and transparent by-elections,” Omollo said, adding that the ministry will continue working closely with the IEBC to ensure fairness and stability.

He also appealed to voters in Kasipul and other affected areas to uphold peace and tolerance throughout the campaign period.

Omollo further urged all aspirants awaiting IEBC clearance to conduct themselves responsibly and promote issue-based, non-violent campaigns.
